Back from the unexpected trip to Rochester; nice to see the folks, although the circumstances certainly could have been nicer. It's about thirty degrees warmer in Savannah, and I can't imagine living in the north any more; muccch too cold.

The new toy arrived today, and I spent the day setting it up; it's absurdly fast, and the flat screen makes such a difference on the desk. Now if I can only find a nice chair, I may actually use the thing :)

Tomorrow is the first meeting of the new site - along with Michael, Daniel, and Riaz, I'm going to try to get some sort of direction for this thing. I have a bit of a vision for it, but the vision is flexible, and it will be interesting to see how it turns out.

But I'm officially on vacation, now. And damn, does that feel good.

The quarter is almost over, and I'm getting fairly excited about the results; while all of my classes started slowly, the kids have really grown a lot. I'm especially impressed with the Studio One projects; several of them actually have nearly completed models in class today - almost a whole week ahead - and should be on track with some very professional deliverables next week. My Interactive Product Design class seems to have gotten their shit together too, which is impressive. Our HCI class is sponsored by Adobe this quarter, and Wilson will be joining us next week; I saw him at CHI, and he seems to be doing pretty well.

I'm ready for a break, though; I'm beginning to see visions of home improvements and vast quantities of beer-drinking, as well as a thirty pound turkey ..

This is the best news I've heard in four years.
