I've been busy, hmm? No time to write anything. J & I went to Sushi last night, and it was goooood .. Then we went over to the coffee shop to hear Kyle Shiver play .. It was a lot of fun.
I spent the bulk of today in Kinkos, photocopying my coursepacket readings .. No clue what tonight will bring, we were supposed to go see Jennifer Nettles, but she canceled :( So, who knows .. its a nice night, although it smells a bit much like paper mill :)
The weekend was a good one, full of home improvements and shopping, but not too much of either. We stopped by the Johnnie Ganem Winery (I'm pretty sure its mentioned in the book? Maybe not), intending to purchase some Gin .. I swear, I have a horrible problem; I impulse-buy expensive scotch at every chance I get. The newest addition is a fantastic Macallan 12, the same stuff we had at our wedding.
J is at work tonight, but she's off soon, and then its time to grill a huge pork tenderloin .. we did a spice rub, and I'm just going to throw it on the grill and see what I can do with this little pig.
:)
The heat is on for the first night of the year, and I'm wearing a hoodie and long underwear .. it feels great :) I've been developing my Design Presentation class, which is a trip .. and generally taking it easy, which is also a trip. Savannah is everything I want in a city - chill, young, and generally liberal. Bring on the war, GW, you have no fans here in redneck Savannah.
J should come home soon, and its a great night for curling up near one of our idle fireplaces and drinking PBR till the sun rises.
Ah, a lazy Sunday .. the windows are open and the cat is fully laid out, pretending not to notice the birds as they fly around outside and mock him.
Jess got a new job at the Sentient Bean here in town; it's right around the corner, and its really cute; I think its going to be good for her to get acquainted and meet friends. She's already met a few people that she clicks with nicely, and they brew a mean cup of coffee.
I've met a few people through the new site, and the other new site is supposed to launch in a few weeks .. Too much internet.
I've been hard at work on my curriculum, and visited the HCI class at SCAD the other day; it seems perfect - a mix of really enthusiastic students and a casual, small setting (there were .. maybe .. ten people in the class). And look at this, I got a "coming soon" mention in a blurb. hah.
So, we've settled into a sort of routine; the house is great, all our errands and dorky utility/bill type things are taken care of, and I've started working on my curriculum "full time" (whatever that means - still seem to have plenty of time to drink PBR on the couch, so who knows) ..
So, this is it for the next few months. Work, play, and get ready to be academic and "professional" :)
In the meantime, we hope to have a good old time bustin' heads at the Still Breathing show tomorrow ..
Finally, almost settled and collected in Savannah!

Our things arrived on Tuesday, and although they broke an expensive lamp and forgot Jess's car, everything else worked our quite well; burried in boxes, yesterday was Unpack And Stash day. Cutting 400 square feet out of a house means more stuff in a smaller space, and it feels that way, but it's going to be very cozy.

Washer/Dryer come today, and then its more unpacking for us .. The city is beautiful, the sun is shining, and our neighborhood is going to be perfect :)
